The Amarnath Yatra was suspended for three days due to bad weather in Jammu and Kashmir. The Amarnath pilgrims were accommodated in Panjtarni and Sheshnag base camps. Now, three days later, the journey has resumed on Sunday (July 9).
Officials told news agency PTI that after the sky around the Amarnath cave appeared clear, the authorities opened the doors of the cave temple and allowed the pilgrims trapped there to visit the naturally formed ice Shivling in the Himalayas of southern Kashmir.
