World Bicycle Day is celebrated worldwide on 3rd June every year.  It aims to raise awareness about the health and environmental benefits of cycling while explaining the importance of the bicycle.  Cycling has many health benefits.  Running it regularly keeps the body healthy and fit.  It invigorates people.  That is why the United Nations General Assembly launched the celebration of 'World Cycle Day' in 2018 to raise awareness.
This year marks the sixth ‘World Bicycle Day’.  World Bicycle Day was officially launched on June 3, 2018 by the United Nations General Assembly in New York.  The event was attended by a large number of people including UN officials, athletes.  The importance of cycling and its health benefits were also explained on the occasion.  Since then, the day has been celebrated around the world.
