Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins on Monday. This was the first official meeting between the two. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations in various sectors including trade, education and sports.
Modi meets New Zealand PM in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Modi arrived in Papua New Guinea on Sunday. But now he has arrived in Australia.
"The meeting with New Zealand PM Chris Hipkins was excellent," Modi tweeted after the meeting. India-New Zealand relations were discussed in detail during the meeting. We also talked about improving commercial and cultural relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Papua New Guinea to attend the India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) summit. He was given a grand welcome there. Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape welcomed the PM at the airport and proceeded to touch his feet which was much talked about. Modi has now arrived in Australia.
