PM Narendra Modi arrived in Papua New Guinea on Sunday where he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister James Marape. Parape hugged PM Modi and then touched his feet and took blessings. Papua New Guinea does not usually host a formal reception for leaders who arrive after sunset but special preparations were made for PM Modi . This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Papua New Guinea. As soon as PM Modi arrived in Papua New Guinea, he was warmly welcomed by the Indian community. PM Modi will host the third summit of the Indo-Pacific Islands Cooperation Forum (FIPIC) on May 22.
Modi arrived in Papua New Guinea on the second leg of his three-nation tour. PM Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Papua New Guinea. PM Modi arrived here from Japan. In Japan, he attended the G7 summit and held bilateral meetings with many of the world's top leaders.
