Paddy Procurement : Assam records 4,00,000 metric tonnes of paddy procurement till March

For the first time in the state, government agencies have procured sufficient paddy in a short period of time, breaking all previous records.  Assam Govt has purchased 4,00,000 metric tonnes of paddy till March (Assam Govt has purchased paddy).  The CM, Himanta Biswa Sharma, also expressed his satisfaction with the move on social media.
   Last year, government agencies were able to procure 4 lakh tonnes of paddy in June alone (Assam Govt four lakh tonnes of paddy procurement as of March 2023).  However, this year's procurement of 400,000 tonnes of paddy in March alone is a huge achievement.  According to the data, 4,00,011 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured so far.  A total of six government agencies were engaged in the procurement of paddy and all these agencies have so far procured more than 400,000 metric tonnes of paddy directly from farmers.
