Google has shown the way out to more than 12 thousand employees.  But the employees who survived the layoff are still worried.  They are afraid that layoffs may start again in Google.  He has sought assurance from top officials during a meeting that he will not be retrenched by the company.  Google's parent company Alphabet has laid off 6 percent of its employees globally.  After which a UK employee told the management that mental safety is paramount.
An employee got upset due to the retrenchment.  She said, 'How can we ever feel safe?  According to the report, out of 12,000 people, including Indians, fired by Google, the rights were people with high performance and immigration visas.  If they can't see any other option to survive, then they may have to leave the country after 60 days.
At the same time, the other employee raised the question and said, 'Should I work harder?  It does matter.  In a letter sent to Google's top executives through the company's internal messaging system, an employee wrote, "The decision to lay off appears to have been made without much thought."
Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai told employees in an email, "I take full responsibility for the decisions that got us here."  Google will pay employees in the US for a minimum of 60 days for those fired without notice and a severance package starting two weeks with 16 weeks of pay for each additional year at Google.
