Japan started using holographic technology in new bank notes

On July 3, Japan will issue new bank notes in what it claims is the world's foremost use of advanced holography.  The technology creates the illusion of portraits of historical figures moving in 3D on bills, which acts as a key anti-counterfeiting measure.  This is the first new design of bank notes in 20 years.
