India has set another new record in the field of space.  The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Saturday launched two Singapore satellites with its PSLV C-55.  With these two Singapore satellites, the number of foreign satellites launched into space has now increased to 424 .
Singapore's TeLEOS-2 and LUMILITE-4 were launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota on Saturday along with PSLV C-5  The two Singapore satellites are said to be very special.  Their launches will help experts to get accurate weather information and will also help in the field of maritime security.
The satellites were launched by the POEM-2 or PSLV Orbital Experimental Module.  Three parts of the PSLV fall into the sea and a fourth part, called PS4, carries the satellite into space orbit.  Then it becomes waste.
PSLV is used as an orbital platform for scientific experiments on non-separating payloads belonging to ISRO, Bellatrix, Dhruv and Indian Institute of Aerophysics.  This was the 57th flight of the PSLV.
