Char Dham Yatra 2023 begins on Akshaya Tritiya 2023: Today is Akshaya Tritiya (Akshaya Tritiya 2023).  This day is considered very auspicious in Sanatan culture.  The valves of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines will be opened to the devotees from today.  The Chardham Yatra 2023 will also be formally launched in Uttarakhand on Akshaya Tritiya.  Gangotri Mandir Samiti president Harish Semwal said the Ganga Maa's doli left Mukhba at 12.15 pm on Friday and will reach Gangotri Dham today.  The band of 11th Battalion Jeklai Army was playing its melodious tunes along with the doli of Maa Ganga.
Hundreds of devotees from home and abroad joined the Doli Yatra of Maa Ganga (Gangotri) on Friday, Semwal said.  The doli was led by Sameshwar Dev, brother of Maa Ganga.  The doors of Gangotri Dham will be opened for the devotees with the chanting of Vedic mantras at 12:35 pm today.  While the doors of Yamunotri Dham will be opened at 12:41 pm.  Yamunotri Dham is currently covered with snow.  There is intermittent snow falling.  This has caused slippery conditions on the road.
Gangotri Dham is also raining.  However, the rain and snowfall is not affecting the enthusiasm of the devotees.  Hundreds of devotees have arrived in Uttarakhand to join the Chardham Yatra.  The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened on April 25 and Badrinath Dham on April  Those who have already reached Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will later leave for Kedarnath and then Badrinath.
