Kozhikode becomes India's first 'City of Literature', included in UNESCO list

Kozhikode, located in the country's northern Kerala, was officially declared India's first 'literary city' by UNESCO on Sunday.  In October 2023, Kozhikode was included in the ‘Literature’ category of the ‘UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)’.
State Local Self-Government Department (LSGD) Minister MB Rajesh announced Kozhikode’s achievement at an official function on Sunday, under which it has been placed in the ‘Literature’ category of the UCCN.
