Conventional fuel power generation capacity increased by 2.44 per cent in the last fiscal

The country's fossil fuel-based power generation capacity grew by 2.44 per cent from 237.27 GHz in March 2023 to 243.22 GHz in FY2024, according to official data.  Government data shows that non-fossil fuel based capacity (renewable energy sources) has grown by 10.79 per cent, to 190.57 gigawatts (GW) in 2023-24, from 172.01 gigawatts in 2022-23.
